Four days after the death of his son, William J. Anderson, the father, John O. Anderson, aged 75, of Jefferson Township, died after a short ilness. He was a widely known and highly respected farmer and had lived his entire life in East Lackawannock and Jefferson townships, but his church affiliations were in Mercer where he was a member of the Second United Presbyterian church. Mr. Anderson was born June 20, 1866, in Jefferson township, the son of William and Elizabeth Jones Anderson. His first wife, Margaret Garrett Anderson, did in 1898. He is survived by Mrs. Mary Williams Hoagland Anderson, whom he married October 24, 1900. Also surviving are the following children: Mrs. Herman Hoagland and Austin Hoagland, Merce; Jessee O. Andseron, R.D. 2, Sharpsville; Mrs Jesse Heckathorne, New Wilmington; Mrs. Clyde Shepar, New Castle, and 14 grandchildren. Funeral services were held a 2:00 p.m., Wednesday at the Miller Funeral Home, Mercer, conducted by Dr. Leslie Mountford. Interment in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
